Types of Glass
PGT offers three types of performance levels. 1) Basic, standard glass right for your home. 2) Energy Efficiency, easy on energy bills and easy on the planet. 3) Impact Resistance, protecting your home from more hurricane-force damage while guarding your family against would-be intruders.
- Annealed: Glass will break into large shards.
- Heat Strengthened: Glass will break into medium-sized shards.
- Insulating: Two panes of glass to reduce heat transfer.
- Laminated: Reduces glass from breaking away from the frame.
- Laminated Insulating: Two panes of glass for strength and one pane for added insulation.
- Tempered: More resistant to blunt impact and temperature swings.
